Some will be in California and others, out-of-state.
This month we feature a variety of homes in Aventura, and a luxury project in Pompano Beach, both in south-east Florida. Our research led us to Aventura for two reasons; Aventura’s population is nearly the same as that of Los Gatos and Monte Sereno, combined, and according to Areavibes, this city has a particularly high, all-around ‘Livability’ rating. Aventura is an active community of 39,000 that offers great weather, abundant outdoor recreation, a lower cost of living, year-round golf, accessible boating, ocean beaches and very affordable real estate. It is located less than 20 miles from Miami international airport and 12 miles from Fort Lauderdale International.
For counterpoint, we looked at the Ritz-Carlton Residences in Pompano Beach, that are very representative of the luxury, high-rise, oceanfront condominium developments with which south-east Florida is so often identified.
Last year Florida ranked first, of all 50 states, in net domestic migration (people moving in from other states v. moving out to other states). California ranked dead last. Florida is one of only 7 states with no state income tax. California has the highest rates of all 43 other states.
The Aventura Mall is the largest in Florida and 3rd largest in the United States.
